(Energy Analytics Institute, 20.Nov.2024) — Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo said the country’s economy would expand by 2.3%.

“We are estimating economic growth of around 2.3%,” Sheinbaum said 20 Nov. 2024 during her daily mañanera briefing with the media.

While her doubters say it is not possible, Sheinbaum reiterated that the economy would in fact grow at that rate.

“The economy secretary has a very important investment portfolio for Mexico and besides we are working on mixed investment ideas that are very important.”

Sheinbaum said there was space for investments without losing sovereignty.

Additionally, Sheinbaum said Mexico’s debt, which has risen owing to the exchange rate among other reasons, would not increase in relation to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP).
