Petrobras and Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname N.V. Ink MOU

(Energy Analytics Institute, 26.Sep.2024) — Brazilian energy giant Petrobras signed non-binding memorandum of understanding (MOU) with its Surinamese counterpart Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname N.V. aimed at assessing cooperation opportunities in the areas of hydrocarbon exploration and production, carbon capture, new energy sources, contingency response planning, among others.

The cooperation with Staatsolie could also lead to better sustainable oil and gas practices and contribute to climate resilience in the region, Petrobras said 26 Sep. 2024 in an official statement.

The MOU is in line with Petrobras’ strategy of developing partnerships that allow it to share risks and expertise, seeking to strengthen the company as an integrated energy company and contributing to the success of the fair and responsible energy transition, the company said in its statement.
