(Energy Analytics Institute, 27.Oct.2023) — The CFO of Eni S.p.A., Francesco Gattei, commented on the situation in Venezuela during the Italian company’s third quarter 2023 conference call with analysts.
Gattei said the Opec country is “clearly is now an opportunity”, referring to the state of play in the country after the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) issued General License Nov. 44 on 14 Oct. 2023.
“Clearly we are still evaluating which are the options in terms of creating an additional stream for recovering our exposure. So far this year we can say we are relatively satisfied with the capability to keep our exposure under control,” Gattei said.
Gattei continued: “Obviously the opportunity of having more volumes and higher production from the country should help to increase also the number of lifting.”
