Córdoba Eyes Higher Biofuel Demand, Exports To Brazil

(Energy Analytics Institute, 12.Oct.2020) — The Córdoba province government of Juan Schiaretti continues to advance varied measures that seek to benefit the region’s biofuels sector.

Schiaretti’s government is promoting a bill proposing use of biofuels in the public transport of passengers, cargo as well in vehicle fleets of provincial government, local media La Nacion reported 12 October 2020. Additionally, his government has been negotiating the export of around 50,000 cubic meters of bioethanol to Brazil.

The details were revealed after representatives from Schiaretti’s government meet with the Chamber of Industrializers of Grains and Producers of Biofuel (Cigbo), and the Business Chamber of Bioethanol from Corn (Biomaíz).

The objective of the Córdoba government is to increase demand and promote installation in the province of more plants that transform biomass into bioenergy.
