Immediate Frontier

(Energy Analytics Institute, 2.Oct.2020) — The Incahuasi natural gas plant restarted hydrocarbon production on 1 October 2020, after halting operations a day earlier due to forest fires approaching from nearby communities.

Natural gas deliveries have gradually recommenced, state oil company Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) announced 2 October in an official statement.

“A detailed evaluation of the integrity of the equipment was carried out, as well as the perimeter that surrounds it, in order to define the necessary actions that allowed the resumption of normal operations under the rules and prudent practices of the industry and the security standards of the Total group,” YPFB announced, citing statements from Total Bolivie E&P.
