(Energy Analytics Institute, 2.Oct.2020) — Enel Green Power Chile (EGP), a subsidiary of Enel Chile, together with AME and possible partners such as Enap, Siemens Energy and Porsche, will develop installations for a pilot plant that will produce green hydrogen through an electrolyzer powered by wind energy in Cabo Negro in the Magallanes Region.

The project is subject to the approval of local authorities and the completion of the financing structure, local media El Mercurio reported on 2 October 2020.

The facility is expected to enter service in 2022, making it the first plant of its kind to produce green hydrogen in Chile. It would also be one of the largest in Latin America.
