Armando Zamora To Head Colombia ANH

(ANH, 12.Mar.2020) — Colombia’s National Hydrocarbon Agency or ANH announced appointment of Armando Zamora Reyes as its new president, replacing Luis Miguel Morelli.

Zamora, a mechanical engineer and specialist in high government at the University of Los Andes, was sworn in by Colombia’s Minister of Mines and Energy María Fernanda Suárez Londoño. Zamora has a Master of Science and Doctorate in Engineering from MIT, and an MBA from IMD (Lausanne). He is Honorary Professor (Honorary Lecturer) of the Center for Energy Studies, Oil and Mining at the University of Dundee (Scotland), of which he was deputy director.

Zamora returns to ANH after being the agency’s first general director between 2003 and 2011. He has held the following positions: senior advisor to Accenture Strategy Energy and Schlumberger Business Consulting, senior consultant at the Boston Consulting Group, and consultant to the IDB, World Bank, International Monetary Fund and International Finance Corporation. Zamora previously worked for Mobil in Colombia, the Institute of Nuclear Affairs, Carbocol and Invest in Colombia Corporation (now ProColombia).
