CARACAS, VENEZUELA (By Piero Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 25.Jun.2026, Words: 272) — The government of Venezuela, through the Ministry of Health and the National Public Health System, in response to the situation arising from the seismic event that occurred on 24 Jun. 2026, reported that all public health centers have been activated to attend to the affected population nationwide.
This measure has a special emphasis on areas with the highest impact: the Capital District and the states of La Guaira, Miranda, Aragua, Carabobo, and Falcón.
Currently, the ministry has capacity to provide care at the following hospitals: Vargas Hospital in Caracas, El Algodonal Hospital (Antimano), Lídice Hospital, Catia Peripheral Hospital, Los Magallanes de Catia Hospital, Dr. Carlos Arvelo Military Hospital, Domingo Luciani Hospital (El Llanito), and Pérez de León II Hospital (Petare).
Furthermore, in coordination with the Association of Private Clinics of the Capital Region, represented by its president, Dr. Germán Cortez, 12 private centers located in Greater Caracas have been made available to those affected for triage, evaluation, and hospitalization.
These institutions are: Clínica Santa Sofía, Centro Médico Docente La Trinidad, Hospital de Clínicas Caracas, Fénix Salud, Clínica Ávila, Clínica La Floresta, Sanatrix, Urológico San Román, Policlínico Metropolitana, Clínica Loira, and Venemergencia.
“We reiterate our commitment to working diligently in partnership with the private sector to guarantee care for all citizens. We urge everyone to remain calm and strictly follow the instructions of the competent authorities to ensure the effectiveness of the implemented response measures,” the ministry announced on 25 Jun. 2026 in an official statement.
