PDVSA Controls Fire at Pier 1 in Puerto La Cruz

(Energy Analytics Institute, 17.Sep.2022) — State-owned PDVSA said a fire at Pier 1 of the Guaraguao Storage and Shipping Terminal in Puerto La Cruz, Anzoátegui state has been brought under control.

The fire was caused by the rupture of a gasoline loading arm during product loading operations at a tanker at the pier, Venezuela’s Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. or PDVSA announced 17 September 2022 in an official statement.

PDVSA’s operational teams and firefighters extinguished the fire in a few minutes, the oil giant said in the statement. The incident didn’t cause any injuries or affect the continuity of operations, the company said.
