MONTERREY, MEXICO (By Isaac Silvestre, Energy Analytics Institute, 6.Jun.2026, Words: 236) — State-owned Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX) denied an alleged analysis released on social media that suggested the volume of illegal theft reached 100,000 barrels per day (b/d) in the first quarter 2026.
“PEMEX reports that this is false and that the figures mentioned do not correspond to the official information, which the state-owned company communicates in its periodic reports to financial regulators,” the company said on 6 Jun. 2026 in an official statement.
