PANAMA CITY, PANAMA (By Piero Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 11.Mar.2026, Words: 205) — Venezuela “categorically rejects the announcement made by the government of Guyana regarding the commencement of a 3-dimensional seismic exploration campaign in maritime areas that Guyana unilaterally intends to present as part of its alleged “exclusive economic zone.”
“Once again, Guyana reiterates its intention to conduct unilateral exploration activities in maritime areas that remain undelimited, in open contravention of fundamental principles of international law,” the Venezuelan government said on 11 Mar. 2026 in an official statement.
