Pucuna Campaign Could Add 2,000 b/d to Block 44 Production Tab

(Piero Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 30.Nov.2024) — Block 44, Pucuna, located in the province of Orellana, has maintained sustained and increasing production. To date, Pucuna, which is part of the Palo Azul Asset, is registering average production of 7,153 barrels per day (b/d).

During 2024, Pucuna technicians have made efforts to gradually increase production by executing the drilling campaign in Block 44 with the Sinopec 248 tower and applying modern techniques to optimize field production, EP PetroEcuador announced 30 Nov. 2024 in an official statement.

The technical interpretation carried out by the Palo Azul Asset group confirmed the extension towards the south of the Pucuna structure, which is currently the objective of the current drilling campaign and which has resulted in a considerable increase in production, with the Pucuna D-030 development, which has a potential of almost 2,000 b/d.
