(Petrobras, 15.Jul.2024) — In the second quarter of this year, the Presidente Bernardes Refinery (RPBC) in Cubatão (SP) recorded a record in the production of S-10 diesel. It produced 990,000 m³, surpassing the previous mark of 966,000 m³ in the third quarter of 2023. The figure is also higher than that produced in the same period last year.

The production of S10 diesel at RPBC increased the supply of the product to the market due to the high reliability of the refinery’s industrial plant and the logistics system for transporting production, which allowed the unit to work with higher loads at very efficient levels. Another determining factor was the proper management of the operational routine, with control of the most impactful variables and prioritization of resources.

For Petrobras’ Industrial Processes and Products director, William França, “the record at RPBC attests to the company’s commitment to investing in refining and meeting commercial commitments with reliability, operational availability, valuing people and the profitability of the units, always guaranteeing the safety of operations.”

Logistics actions increased the flow to the Santos Terminal

To achieve the record at RPBC, a series of logistics initiatives were implemented in partnership with Transpetro, which made it possible to improve the flow of S-10 diesel through the Santos Terminal. The result was an all-time high in the movement of the product since 2018, reaching 386,300 m³ in the second quarter.

Among the initiatives, Petrobras increased the size of the lots for S-10 diesel shipments. In other words, optimizing the terminal’s tankage and existing infrastructure increased the efficiency of outflow operations, improving pumping and minimizing losses due to derivatives interfaces.

According to Petrobras’ Logistics, Marketing, and Markets director, Claudio Schlosser, increasing the flow of S-10 diesel to the Santos Terminal meets a commercial logic that brings gains for Petrobras and the country: “It is imperative to make use of the available outflow margin and reach the market with as much volume as possible. In this way, we are offering our customers another opportunity.”
