CARACAS, VENEZUELA (By Piero Stewart, Editores Latin Petroleum, 2.Sep.2026, Words: 610) — Venezuela’s interim president Delcy Rodríguez announced the signing of agreements that will allow for a significant increase in crude oil production, which will translate into well-being for the Venezuelan people.
“This translates into more jobs, higher wages, education, food security, and the overall well-being of a country seeking a better future. This is the transformation Venezuela needs: to overcome its difficulties and move forward through its natural resources,” she declared on 2 Sep 2026 from the Sol del Perú Room at Miraflores Palace in Caracas.
In this context, Rodríguez emphasized: “We urge Venezuelan citizens who are abroad to return to Venezuela so they can join the recovery and growth process, the rebirth of Venezuela. We Venezuelans will soon see activity in the regions where these investments are being made… may the countries represented here benefit, and may the people of Venezuela benefit.”
Rodríguez’ statements came before a number of US officials and executives with international oil companies (IOCs) gathered in Venezuela to sign oil, gas and energy—related agreements

For his part, US energy secretary Chris Wright stated the North American country’s fundamental mission in the region is to bring peace to Venezuela, with energy development as the main catalyst:
— Wright considered the agreement announced days earlier as “historic” and fundamental for the transformation of Venezuela.

— Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi highlighted the signed agreements represent a partnership focused on long-term value creation and the rapid growth of Venezuela’s resource production.
