Profeco revealed that nearly 20% of petrol stations, some 2,166, are not respecting the 27 pesos/liter price ceiling established in the voluntary agreement with the government of Mexico’s president Claudia Sheinbaum. Baja California leads the list with 273 stations outside the scheme, followed by Tamaulipas (178), Michoacán (166), and Jalisco and Sonora (161 each). In contrast, Mexico City has only 3 and Colima, 8, according to a recent report published by Profeco.
