HOUSTON, TEXAS (By Pietro D. Pitts, Energy Analytics Institute, 28.May.2026) — US-based energy giants Exxon Mobil Corp. and ConocoPhillips are considering a return to Venezuela after leaving the country 2 decades ago, despite Venezuela’s outstanding debt to the companies.
Talks for their return are ongoing, but the companies have indicated the OPEC country still has work to do regarding production-sharing agreements (PSCs) and other issues, the NTN24 reported on 28 May 2026.
