BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA (By Steve Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 9.Jan.2026, Words: 90) — US president Donald Trump said Big Oil companies from the likes of Chevron, Shell, Repsol and Eni plan to invest at least $100bn in Venezuela as part of a plan to reactivate the OPEC country’s oil sector.
Trump revealed details after a meeting held in the White House on 9 Jan. 2026 with oil executives from the companies, including Exxon Mobil’s CEO Darren Woods.
