MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (By Fidencio Casillas, Energy Analytics Institute, 18.Aug.2025, Words: 1,000) — News that Moody’s Rating has placed Petróleos Mexicanos or Pemex’ ratings under review for upgrade is positive news for the state-owned company, according to the head of Mexico’s Secretariat of Energy (SENER) Luz Elena González Escobar.
Luz Elena González said the announcement from Moody’s on 18 Aug. 2025 reflects recognition by the rating agency of the coordinated efforts of SENER, Pemex, the Secretary of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) and Banco Nacional de Obras y Servicios Públicos (Banobras) to strengthen the state oil company.
