EAI brief: Bolivia’s electoral calendar and elections on 17 Aug. 2025 [pdf download]

SALVADOR DE BAHIA, BRAZIL (By Pedro Silva, Energy Analytics Institute, 14.Aug.2025, Words: 155) — Land-locked Bolivia will elect its president, vice president, and members of the Chamber of Deputies and Senate this 17 Aug. 2025.

If necessary, a runoff election is possible on 19 Oct. 2025.

Up for grabs are seats for 130 deputies, 36 senators and 9 state representatives, according to data revealed on 14 Aug. 2025 by Bolivia’s government.

Other highlights include:

— a total of 7,937,138 Bolivian citizens are registered to vote: 7,567,207 in Bolivia and 369,931 outside of Bolivia;

— the bulk of the registered voters in Bolivia (73.5%) are located in Santa Cruz, La Paz and Cochabamba;

— of the registered voters: 48.8% are men, while 51.2% are women;

— there will be 15,731 voting centers and 34,026 electoral tables open and operating on election day.
