MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (By Fidencio Casillas, Energy Analytics Institute, 17.Jul.2025, Words: 521) — Mexico’s president Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo revealed there will be 10 new generating plants in the Latin American country between 2025-2027.
Sheinbaum also said the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) increased its reserve margin from 6% to 10% in 2024 to cover increased demand, while she added that 2 combined cycle plants planned during the tenure of former president Andres Manuel López Obrador’s administration have already begun operations.
