PANAMA CITY, PANAMA (Piero Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 31.May.2025, Words: 428) — Vente Venezuela national coordinator and opposition leader María Corina Machado thanked US president Donald Trump for what she labelled as his “firm commitment to freedom and democracy in Venezuela.”
Machado’s comments came just days after Chevron Corporation‘s license to operate in Venezuela finally ended. Although it is unclear what concessions, if any, have been granted to the US company, many opposition leaders like Machado support the decision taken by the Trump administration.
