Freeport LNG restores service to its third LNG storage tank on Quintana Island

HOUSTON, TEXAS (Ian Silverman, Energy Analytics Institute, 21.May.2025, Words: 459) — Freeport LNG Development, L.P. said its third liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tank has returned to service with the approval of the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

The storage tank had been offline for nearly 3 years after LNG piping to the tank was damaged in the 8 Jun. 2022 incident at Freeport LNG’s liquefaction and LNG export facility.
