MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (Fidencio Casillas, Energy Analytics Institute, 21.May.2025, Words: 165) — Mexico’s state-owned Petróleos Mexicanos’ (Pemex) revealed deals about its restructuring and savings to come from it as a result of the vertical integration of its exploration and production and industrial transformation departments, among others.
However, the plan will see Pemex terminate positions for 2,964 employees, whose liquidation packages are being finalized. In the early days of her presidency, Mexico’s president Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo told workers there were no plans to reduce personnel levels at the Mexico City-based company.
