Mexico’s Ebrard says consultations regarding USMCA to start in 2H:25

MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (Fidencio Casillas, Energy Analytics Institute, 15.May.2025, Words: 155) — Mexico, Canada and the US are expected to initiate consultations related the USMCA in the second-half 2025, according to Mexico’s Economy Secretary Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon.

The consultations by each country are expected to start in Oct. 2025 with an aim on studying the positive and negative effects of the treaty and are expected to conclude in early 2026, the secretary said on 15 May 2025 during his participation in the mañanera or early morning press briefing with the media hosted daily by Mexico’s president Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.
