HOUSTON, TEXAS (Philipp Markopulos, Energy Analytics Institute, 18.Mar.2025) — Crowley and Naturgy entered into a multi-year agreement that provides for the regular delivery of US mainland-sourced liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Naturgy’s operating facility in Penuelas, Puerto Rico.
This, as Crowley raised the US flag on the American Energy carrier, which commenced operations as the first domestic LNG carrier to transport US-sourced natural gas to Puerto Rico. The milestone will provide Puerto Rico with increased access to US LNG, helping address the island’s ongoing power demands, Crowley announced on 18 Mar. 2025 in an official statement.
