(Fidencio Casillas, Energy Analytics Institute, 29.Dec.2024) — In 2025, with the support of Mexico’s president Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the state of Sonora looks to continue with the Guaymas-Chihuahua road project as well as construction of the Bavispe-Nuevo Casas Grandes road.

“In 2025, we will continue to build a land of opportunities for the people of Sonora,” Sonora’s governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño announced 29 Dec. 2024 on Threads.

Sonora state is positioned among the states in Mexico with the most exports, Durazo said citing data from INEGI.

Under Plan Sonora, Durazo said the state continues to promote the semiconductor industry, strengthening economic development and attracting investments for the benefit of the people of Sonora.

“We managed to attract the largest foreign investment of the last 20 years, strengthening the economic development of Sonora and generating more job opportunities,” Durazo said. “We continue to promote connectivity, tourism and the economy for the benefit of Sonoran families.”
