—Argentina: Oil production reached 740.8 Mb/d in Sep. 2024, up 14.7% y-o-y, while gas production reached 147.1 MMcm/d, up 2.9% y-o-y, the Secretariat of Energy said.

—Argentina: Argentine gas could reach Asia at a competitive price equal or better than most of the new projects in the US, according to YPF.

—Argentina: The total price of the Argentina LNG project is projected at $55bn (upstream, $20bn; midstream, $10bn; and LNG plant, $25bn), according to YPF.

—Brazil: The ANP BODs approved geological and economic studies on 3 blks located in the Santos Basin pre-salt: Quartzo, Calcedônia and Opala, the agency said.

—Colombia: The Andean country plans to launch its biodiversity plan during COP16, Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro said.

—Colombia: ENEL plans to invest 2bn euros in Colombia to advance the country’s energy transition, according to Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro.

—Ecuador: The Ministry of Energy and Mines warned of planned power outages from 25-27 Oct. 2024 that would impact electrical services across the Andean country.

—Mexico: Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum said her country would send monetary and technical assistance via CFE to Cuba to help w/ its blackouts.

—Venezuela: During the Buenos Días program on VPItv, Venezuelan economist José Toro Hardy said Venezuela’s oil sector needed investments of $25bn over 8yrs to produce what the country produced 20yrs ago.

—Venezuela: Pedro Tellechea Ruiz and his most immediate collaborators were rounded up in Venezuela for their involvement in so-called “serious crimes that threaten the highest interests of the nation,” Venezuela’s attorney general said on national TV.
