PetroEcuador Seeks Partner to Develop Block 6

(Energy Analytics Institute, 9.Jun.2022) — Ecuador’s state-owned EP PetroEcuador is eying a bidding process to select a strategic partner to develop Block 6 in the Gulf of Guayaquil.

PetroEcuador is seeking to boost production at the Amistad Field and maximize the recovery factor of its deposits in Block 6, the company announced 9 June 2022 in an official statement.

Currently, the Amistad Field is producing approximately 24 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscf/d).

The first phase of the bidding process begins on 13 June and includes the reception of letters of interest from interested companies. The process runs until 24 June.

Subsequently, a data pack containing technical, economic and legal information will be made available to participants in the bid process, PetroEcuador said in the statement.
