LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN
Argentina
— Argentina’s Economic Minister Martín Guzmán held talks w/ YPF‘s President Pablo González and CEO Sergio Affronti about “the importance of promoting infrastructure developments to support the development of the energy sector,” media outlet Infobae reported on 2 May 2022, citing official explanations. Guzmán and the YPF execs also discussed issues related to the Vaca Muerta gas pipeline, the possibility of a new bidding round for Plan Gas as well as the possibility of producing liquefied natural gas (LNG) for export.
— Argentina’s Economic Minister Martín Guzmán is pursuing plans to attract interest from different cos. willing to invest around $10bn to develop the country’s LNG export capacity, media outlet Más Energía reported 2 May 2022. Argentina, under the plan, would be in a position sometime between 2026-28 to export significant LNG volumes, which could exceed $15bn/yr.

Brazil
— FMC Corp.’s LatAm sales grew 31% YOY in 1Q:22 “driven by robust volume growth in soybean, corn and sugarcane as well as price rises and a 6% currency tailwind. The region’s results were also driven by selective herbicide and insecticide growth along w/ strong pricing actions in Brazil,” the co. announced 2 May 2022 in an official stmt, adding that Argentina and the Andean countries saw double-digit growth in the qtr.
Chile

Suriname
— The Noble Gerry de Souza, upgraded w/ an MPD system and second BOP, safely mobilized to Suriname and began its contract w/ APA Corp. near the end of 1Q:22, Noble announced 2 May 2022 in an official stmt., adding that APA Corp has two one-well options for the rig.
Trinidad and Tobago
— Noble Corp. said that in 1Q:22 the Noble Regina Allen was awarded a contract for six wells in Trinidad and Tobago. Work is to commence shortly after the conclusion of the rig’s contract w/ Repsol in Guyana, Noble announced 2 May 2022 in an official stmt.
NORTH AMERICA
US
— Murphy Oil Corp. (NYSE:MUR) will redeem $200mn in aggregate principal amount of its 6.875% Senior Notes due 2024 on 2 Jun. 2022, the redemption date for the notes. “The redemption price for the notes called for redemption will be equal to 101.719% of the principal amount, plus accrued and unpaid interest, if any, to, but excluding, the redemption date in accordance with the terms of the Notes and the indenture under which the notes were issued,” Murphy said 2 May. 2022 in a stmt on its website. The notes to be redeemed will be selected in accordance with the procedures of The Depository Trust Company. Interest on the portion of the notes selected for redemption will cease to accrue on and after the redemption date.
— Natural gas and LNG expert Alex Munton will join Rapidan Energy Group on 2 May 2022, as Director of Rapidan’s Global Gas Service, Rapidan Energy Group Founder and President Bob McNally announced 2 May in an official co. stmt.
