(Energy Analytics Institute, 11.Sep.2020) — Authorities from Ecuador’s Ministry of Energy and Non-Renewable Natural Resources (MENRNR) and the autonomous decentralized government of Arajuno announced development of electrical infrastructure in the region with an approximate investment of $1.2mn.
The infrastructure will benefit around 1,200 residents of the communities of San Virgilio, Atakapi, Liquino, Pitacocha, Chico Méndez and Barrio San Lorenzo in the Pastaza province, MENRNR announced 8 September 2020 in an official statement.
Development work will consist of the optimization of the Arajuno feeder, Stage I, with an investment of $466,719 financed by the Ambato Electric Company, and electrification of Pitacocha and Sacha Yacu-San Virgilio with investments of $399,560 and $415,967 respectively. The latter two projects will will be financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB).
