Bolivia Signs Contract To Market Gas To Mato Grosso

(Energy Analytics Institute, Ian Silverman, 26.Sep.2019) — Bolivia’s state oil company Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) inked a marketing contract with MTGas de Brasil to provide 1 million cubic meters per day (MMcm/d) of natural gas to Brazil’s Mato Grosso State for 15 months until December 2020.

Mato Grosso, which borders Bolivia, is the third largest state in Brazil, and has a population of 3.3 million inhabitants. The state’s economy is driven by extractive industry (wood, rubber), agriculture (sugar cane, soybeans, rice, corn), livestock, mining (limestone and gold); metallurgical; and food industry, reported online media La Razón.
