(OPIS, 28.Aug.2019) — OPIS (Oil Price Information Service) by IHS Markit has opened registration for the third annual OPIS Mexico Fuel Week, October 21-24, 2019. The event will be held in Mexico City at the Sheraton Maria Isabel Hotel. Confirmed speakers from both government and industry include:

— Representative Manuel Rodriguez, President of the Energy Commission for the House of Representatives in Mexico

— Senator Armando Guadiana Tijerino, President of the Energy Commission for the Mexican Senate

— Ambassador Carlos Pascual, Senior Vice President, Global Energy, IHS Markit

— Uriel Joffre Vega, CEO, Grupo Transportes

— Ernesto Anguiano Sanchez, Commercial VP Energy Chemicals, Ferromex

— Luis Martinez, President and General Director, LM Transport

— Juan Antonio García, General Director, Itzoil

— Shaun McRae, Assistant Professor of Economics, ITAM

These experts will discuss how Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s administration’s focus on Pemex growth and refinery revival will affect U.S. investment in the market. Other key points of discussion will address the crackdown on fuel theft and the capacity of Pemex to meet the expected demand in 2020 for low-sulfur shipping fuel.

Two main sessions across four days form the core of Mexico Fuel Week. During October 21-22, workshop instructors will teach attendees how to purchase fuel from a U.S. supplier, import it into Mexico, and then market it successfully. During October 23-24, a summit of cross-border experts will deliver their analyses on the future of Mexican energy reform, including supply, infrastructure and regulation. Both the workshop and summit will be translated simultaneously into English and Spanish.

“We’ve assembled a highly knowledgeable group of speakers for this year’s Mexico Fuel Week, and we will be adding more to the agenda as the event approaches,” said David Coates, director of conferences for OPIS. “Attendees will hear directly from professionals active in this evolving market on what it takes to succeed. That’s the key aspect that differentiates Mexico Fuel Week from similar events covering the Mexican market and what makes it a uniquely valuable educational experience.”
