(Energy Analytics Institute, Ian Silverman, 6.Jun.2019) — Argentina’s Energy Secretariat Gustavo Lopetegui met 6 June with Brazil’s Minister of Mines and Energy Bento Albuquerque under the framework of President Jair Bolsonaro’s visit to Argentina.

Two Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) were signed during the meetings related to the exchange of energy and bioenergy, including biofuels, between the two South American countries.

“We have enormous potential in terms of cooperation and energy integration,” Lopetegui said in an official ministry statement. “With growth of Vaca Muerta and the pre-salt, we have new energy sources for development, and we’re very interested in being able to increase trade related to electrical power and natural gas,” he added.
