(Renewables Now, 19.Apr.2019) — Czech solar developer Solek Group announced on Thursday its has started construction of three solar parks in Chile with a combined capacity of 16.64 MWp direct current (DC).
More specifically, the European company is building the 2.99-MWp Villa Seca and the 10.66-MWp Santa Fe farms in the Maule region, and the 2.99-MWp Los Paltos plant in Valparaiso.
These photovoltaic (PV) farms are part of a Chilean portfolio of 250 MWp of projects in the Pequeños Medios de Generación Distribuida (PMGD) programme from small-scale solar, to be realised by the company in the next three years. It said it relies on financing by Czech investors and unnamed funds from North America.
Canadian investment group CarbonFree has awarded Solek the biggest contract for its Chilean portfolio so far, for the development of approximately 100 MWp.
