HOUSTON, TEXAS (By Pietro D. Pitts, Editores Latin Petroleum, 21.Sep.2026, Words: 267) — Venoil Energía finalized the acquisition of Valle del Río Grande and Cerro Fortunoso.
As such, the company completed transfer of both concessions within the framework of the Andes Plan, with an investment of $150mn.
“This takeover represents a new leap forward for Venoil Energía. Our goal is to consolidate our position through talent, efficiency, and trust throughout our value chain,” Venoil Energía president and CEO Gustavo Naves said on 21 Sep. 2026 in an official company statement.
With operations in Mendoza and Santa Cruz, Venoil Energía currently has 340 employees. Following the incorporation of the Malargüe operations, the company will reach a workforce of over 800 employees, marking a new phase of growth and operational expansion.
In parallel, Venoil Energía projects an investment plan of $229mn for its operations in Argentina, of which $206mn corresponds to Mendoza and $23mn to Santa Cruz.
With these investments and the expansion of its operational scale, Venoil Energía consolidates a strategy of sustained growth, value creation, and commitment to the energy development of Argentina.
Work with YPF
Venoil Energía also highlighted the work carried out by state-owned YPF throughout the production history of these areas and the collaboration developed during the transition process as a foundation for ensuring operational continuity and projecting a new stage of development.
The company also emphasized the importance of continuing to build collaborative relationships that contribute to the country’s energy development.
