MONTERREY, MEXICO (By Isaac Silvestre, Energy Analytics Institute, 13.Jun.2026, Words: 484) — Mexico’s president Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo inaugurated the Federal Electricity Commission’s (CFE) combined cycle power plant in Colima. This, as part of actions to guarantee energy sovereignty and national sovereignty.
The plant will generate an additional 357 megawatts (MW), bringing the total to 2,860 MW at the Manzanillo complex. It will benefit 800,000 users, businesses, services, and industries in the western region.
