MONTERREY, MEXICO (By Isaac Silvestre, Energy Analytics Institute, 24.Mar.2026, Words: 109) — Mexico’s president Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, along with energy sector authorities from the Energy Secretariat (SENER), the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) and Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), inspected the residual fuel oil utilization project at the Salina Cruz refinery in Oaxaca.
This project will transform fuel oil into high-value products — Said products include: liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), naphtha, diesel, and light and heavy gas oil — strengthening Mexico’s the National Refining System and the utilization of crude oil, Pemex announced on 25 Mar. 2026 in an official statement.
