MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (By Fidencio Casillas, Energy Analytics Institute, 18.Feb.2026, Words: 100) — Mexico’s president Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo said a number of pensioners with Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) and the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) receive more money than she does.

In the case of Pemex, 544 pensioners receive incomes exceeding that of the president, totaling 1.827bn pesos annually, Sheinbaum announced on 18 Feb. 2026 during her morning briefing with the press.
