BOGOTÁ, COLOMBIA (By Ana Sanches, Energy Analytics Institute, 3.Jan.2026, Words: 370) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the Colombian government, expressed “its rejection of the recent armed actions carried out against the territorial integrity and political autonomy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.”
“Colombia reaffirms its unwavering commitment to regional peace and security, the sovereignty of states, and the unrestricted respect for the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, particularly the prohibition of the use of force and the peaceful settlement of disputes. The historical experience of the region, proclaimed a Zone of Peace, demonstrates that no dispute can be legitimately resolved through unilateral actions,” the ministry said on 3 Jan. 2026 in an official statement.
