Collective effort against extreme heat gains momentum at COP30

BELÉM, BRAZIL (By COP30, 13.Nov.2025, Words: 99) — From Pará to the Brazilian highland — and from riverside communities to major cities — Brazil is heating up, but it is also responding.

Initiatives show that confronting extreme heat in Brazil requires more than adaptation: it demands collective effort, collaboration, knowledge, and courage to transform the future.

Launched ahead of the conference and led by the COP30 Presidency in partnership with UNEP, the initiative has already mobilized over 150 cities to confront extreme heatwaves and pursue sustainable cooling solutions.
