MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (By Fidencio Casillas, Energy Analytics Institute, 21.Oct.2025, Words: 215) — Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) delivered 30 tons of humanitarian aid to families in the community of Álamo Temapache, consisting of bottled water, food, cleaning supplies, and personal hygiene products.
The donations were made voluntarily by personnel from various Pemex work centers.
Cleaning work was also carried out in homes and streets in the affected communities to immediately and directly address the needs of the population, Pemex announced on 21 Oct. 2025 in an official statement.
Following up on these actions, Pemex authorities met with the Veracruz deputy secretary of government José Manuel Pozos Castro in Pueblo Nuevo to coordinate relief and support efforts.
Pemex also delivered tanks with potable water to the communities directly affected by the spill.
Concerning the healthcare of residents, 3 mobile medical units (MMUs) from Pemex were deployed to the towns of Álamo, Citlaltépetl, and Cabellal to provide general medical assistance, dental care, blood chemistry tests, electrocardiograms, ultrasound screenings (breast and pregnancy), and free basic medications.
Pemex is supervising the remediation and cleanup of the Pantepec river, while reaffirming its social commitment to ensuring the well-being of the inhabitants of this region.
