EAI brief: Japan Credit Rating (JCR) reaffirms rating on Mexico’s foreign currency

MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (By Fidencio Casillas, Energy Analytics Institute, 18.Jul.2025, Words: 127) — Japan Credit Rating (JCR) agency reaffirmed the rating of Mexico’s long-term sovereign debt in foreign currency at “A-” with a stable outlook. 

This is 4 steps above the minimum investment grade threshold, which confirms the expectation that there will be no changes in the rating in the short term, Mexico’s Ministry of Finance and Public Credit announced on 18 Jul. 2025 in an official statement.
