MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (Fidencio Casillas, Energy Analytics Institute, 29.Mar.2025) — Mexico’s Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) will install 5,500 photovoltaic rooftop panels on houses in Mexicali, Baja California with an investment of MXN$200mn Mexican pesos in 2025.
Amid an abundance of sunlight in the region, the plan aims to reduce electricity rates for consumers, particularly in seasons of extremely hot temperatures.
