(Piero Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 3.Jan.2025) — EP PetroEcuador general manager Leydi Jiménez Rivera made a technical visit to Block 57 and in specific the Shushufindi field located in the province of Sucumbíos.
Block 57 is made up of the Shushufindi, Aguarico, Drago, Cobra and Condorazo fields, EP PetroEcuador announced 3 Jan. 2025 in a social media post.
The Shushufindi field produces 57,100 barrels per day (b/d), and is considered a mature field since it has been providing production for over 50 years.
During her tour, Jiménez verified the proper functioning of the Integrated Asset Management Center, also known as MIA by its Spanish acronym. The MIA manages the control and optimization of the wells with BES, supported by the SCADA system.
