(Piero Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 23.Dec.2024) — In the aftermath of the offshore incident 22 Dec. 2024 at Rig 110, Heritage Petroleum Company Limited continues to fully support Well Services Petroleum Company Limited in response efforts.
To this end, Heritage has set up its Incident Management Team along with dedicated business support at its Marine Base in Point Fortin, the company announced 23 Dec. 2024 in an official statement.
The Heritage team is comprise of more than 25 members of staff and led by Heritage’s Midstream Business Unit Leader and includes the Head of the Drilling Department and the Head of the HSE Department.

That team in Point Fortin reports into a team located at the Port of Spain office led by the Heritage’s Chief Operations Officer (COO), the company said.
As advised in the Well Services incident report, issued to the media at 9:51 am on 22 Dec. 2024, of the 75 people onboard the rig at the time of the incident, 74 have been evacuated. Regrettably, one person, Mr. Pete Phillip, was unaccounted for, and remains unaccounted for as at the time of this release.
Heritage said it will therefore continue sparing no effort with respect to its involvement in this exercise, which has included:
1) the provision of 9 support vessels which were involved in the initial rescue of personnel onboard the rig, and remain involved in the movement of materials, equipment and personnel, the conduct of surveys, the provision of security, oil spill monitoring, and emergency response,
2) The provision, through Heritage contractors, of topside drone surveillance, and
3) The provision, through Heritage contractors, of subsea surveillance by way of divers and remote operated vehicles.
Heritage is in constant contact with the Ministry of Energy and Energy industries (MEEI) and is committed to make available any additional resources and/or expertise which may be required as it continues to provide full support, the company said in the statement.
