(Energy Analytics Institute, 7.Oct.2024) — CNOOC Limited and 80883 said the Bozhong 19-2 Oilfield Development Project has started production.
Peak production from the project is expected to be approximately 18,800 b/d of heavy crude oil in 2025, CNOOC said 7 Oct. 2024 in an official statement.
The project is located in central Bohai Bay and in an average water depth of about 20 m. The main production facilities consist of a new central processing platform and 4 new unmanned wellhead platforms. A total of 59 development wells are planned to be commissioned, including 34 production wells and 25 water-injection wells, CNOOC said.
“Smart engineering and standardized construction has remarkably reduced the project’s construction cycle. It has strongly promoted the efficient development of offshore oil and gas resources and laid a solid foundation for the production growth in the Bohai oilfields, the largest crude oil production base in China.”
CNOOC operates the project with a 100% interest.
