(Energy Analytics Institute, 23.Sep.2024) — France’s TotalEnergies announced the start of production from the Fénix gas field.
The field is located 60 km off the coast of Tierra del Fuego in Southern Argentina, the French company announced 23 Sep. 2024 on LinkedIn.
Facts and highlights about the Fénix gas field, according to TotalEnergies, include:
— Gas produced at Fenix is transported via a 35-km subsea pipeline to the Véga Pléyade platform and treated at onshore facilities;
—The gas has a carbon intensity of 9 kg CO2e/boe, leveraging existing infrastructure for reduced emissions; and
—Fenix will ensure a steady gas supply to the Argentine market, supporting local energy needs.
