HOUSTON, TEXAS (Piero Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 12.Sep.2024) — IAPG Houston president Joe Amador provided a general update and overview of Argentina’s Vaca Muerta shale play during the most recent edition of “Shale en Argentina” in Houston, Texas.

—”If this play was sitting in North America and we put 200 rigs on it, it would be producing 5-6 MMb/d. It’s quite capable of that. It’s producing just below 400,000 b/d because there are 33 rigs running,” an official said, citing comments from Veriten’s Bill Von Gonten on 28 Aug. 2024.
