Colombia
— Initial voting results in Colombia show Gustavo Petro and his running mate Francia Márquez Mina, representing the Pacto Histórico party, heading into a second round run off against Rodolfo Hernández and his running mate Marelen Castillo, representing the Anti-Corruption Rulers’ League party. Surprisingly, Federico Gutiérrez and his running mate Rodrigo Lara, representing the Equipo por Colombia party, appear stuck in third place, which would leave them out of the run off.

Venezuela
— Venezuela’s National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inameh by its Spanish acronym) issued a yellow alert for 48 hrs for six states across the OPEC country due to possible increases in river levels. The affected states incl. Amazonas, Apure, Táchira, Mérida, Trujillo and Zulia, Inameh announced 29 May 2022 on Twitter.
