(US House of Representatives, 25.May.2021) — For Africa Day 2021, the House Foreign Affairs Committee will convene notable African leaders and entrepreneurs to discuss how we can better engage African partners to build stronger U.S.-Africa ties by promoting economic growth and increased access for American businesses to Africa’s vibrant and promising markets.
Panelists include:
- H.E. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, former President of Liberia, Nobel Laureate and First Woman Elected as Head of State in Africa;
- H.E. Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director General of the World Trade Organization, former Finance Minister of Nigeria;
- H.E. Rama Yade, Director of the Atlantic Council’s Africa Center, former French Minister of State for Human Rights, former French Minister of State for Sport, and former French Permanent Delegate to UNESCO; and
- Ms. Isis Nyong’o Madison, Kenyan-American media and tech entrepreneur, Principal at Asphalt + Ink, Senior Advisor with the Albright Stonebridge Group.
